LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN
All Because of You
In 2006, Franklin Ross (’68) had a vision to set up a foundation that would allow alumni to support and uplift current Worth County R-III students and faculty. A group of volunteers, all alums, were assembled and a 501 (C)3 nonprofit organization was created: The Worth County Education Foundation (WCEF). Our mission statement was, and remains, Extra for All.
The WCEF board interprets the phrase “Extra for All” quite literally. We aspire to improve the educational experience for every individual student, any class/student group, and even the faculty and staff at Worth County R-III. We provide funding for projects outside the school’s budget through our grant program. We supplement designated department’s budgets through endowments. We administer private gifts for special projects as designated by the donor. We are perhaps best known for administering all the scholarships given to graduating seniors.
The volunteer board is merely here to provide oversight of all that you do for the students at Worth County R-III. Your generosity has had a profound impact on literal generations of students over the past decades.
Here are some numbers (from 2006-2025) demonstrating your incredible generosity:
*Student and teacher grant dollars disbursed: $28,410.92
*Total endowments (all departments): $19,499.32
*Total special projects: $9,454.36
*Total scholarship gifts to students: $136,349.64
*Number of students receiving scholarships: 141
Estimated impact on Worth County R-III students: Incalculable--All because of YOU.
